Got placenta?
So, Christina is six and a half months pregnant, and we're knee deep in childbirth classes and decisions. Naturally, Christina's more involved than I am, and she's doing a stellar job exercising her kegel muscle (even though it hurts) and interviewing pediatricians.
One question I've brought up (mostly) in jest in the past was that of how we want to cut the umbilical cord (scissors vs. teeth) and whether or not we should hold onto the placenta for good eats. Apparently, Joel Stein (or really, his wife) from Time magazine has a lot more chutzpah than I do.
You've gotta check out his article and video on boiling the placenta down into health pills for his wife. It's pure gold.

To quote Joel, "If I ever kill a man in my own home, I am totally calling the placenta lady."

And you just reminded me to go call one more pediatrician possibility...
I love you!
#2 I mentioned to my lady

I mentioned to my lady wife... "Curious, seven months ago from the time of my post I was in New Orleans for a conference. What were you doing?" Apparently the official line is you don't actually time pregnancy from your presumed date of conception. I'll let it slide, but I'm gonna be checking this baby to make sure she looks like me.
